Last autumn 5 exchange students came all the way from Yakutsk in Russia to the Sámi University of Applied Sciences in Kautokeino. They were students at the SÁÁL studies that is taught every autumm semester at the Sámi University of Applied Sciences, and amongst other things they learned Sámi language and about Sámi culture. For many of them, Kautokeino was their first meet with Europe. Read more about their stay in Kautokeino here.

In connection with the Sami language week, a tribute concert for Inga Juuso will be arranged at Diehtosiida in Kautokeino on Friday 29.10.21. The tickets are free for students at Sámi University of Applied Sciences.
The Sámi education conference will be arranged October 5-7 2021 at Diehtosiida in Guovdageaidnu, and part of the conference will be streamed. The registration to the participation at Diehtosiida is now closed, but it is still possible to register to the digital day of the conference.

Call for papers for Indigenous Journalism and Self-Determination Conference has been extended until June 1, 2021. Due to uncertainties regarding the Covid-19 situation, the conference will convene entirely online. The online conference will take place from September 28th to 29th.
