Safety
| Sámi University of Applied Sciences shall provide a safe study and working environment for students and employees. It is therefore important to maintain a high level of safety in everyday activities, prevent serious incidents and maintain robust emergency preparedness. Through active and effective safety measures, the university shall safeguard both physical security on its premises and IT and information security. |
Emergency Preparedness | We must be prepared to deal with unexpected incidents. This enables us to prevent unwanted and serious incidents and to be prepared to handle them should they nevertheless occur. |
Risk Analyses and Assessments | The university conducts ongoing risk analyses and assessments to identify the most likely incidents that may occur. Based on these assessments, measures are implemented to reduce risk. Risk analyses and assessments form the basis for the university's emergency preparedness planning. |
Emergency Preparedness Plan | The university's emergency preparedness plan is adapted to the institution's responsibilities. The plan is intended to help safeguard life and health, take care of employees, students and next of kin, and ensure effective internal and external communication. The emergency preparedness plan is not publicly available. |
Emergency Preparedness Team | The university's management team constitutes its emergency preparedness team. If an emergency or crisis occurs, the team convenes and a crisis management team is established. |
Crisis | A crisis is an emergency or other serious incident that may threaten employees, students or the university's core activities. Crises of a certain severity are handled by the emergency services and other professional agencies whose assistance the university may require. |
