Indigenous Journalism and Self-determination
Sámi University of Applied Sciences/Sámi Allaskuvla cordially invites scholars, students, journalists and members of the public to an online conference Indigenous Journalism and Self-determination, September 28–29, 2021.
The conference will bring together scholars and students in the field of Indigenous Journalism, as well as Indigenous media leaders and Indigenous journalists. Sámi University of Applied Sciences is in Guovdageaidnu, Norway – an Arctic community known for being a stronghold of Sámi language, culture, media, higher education, and Sámi and Indigenous research.
The registration deadline for the conference is extenteded to September 26, 2021. For registration, please send an e-mail to IJC2021@samas.no.

Following the conference, on September 30–October 2, 2021, the Sámi Journalist Association will hold the inaugural Sámi Media Festival on campus at the Sámi University of Applied Sciences, Guovdageaidnu. See festival program here: https://www.samimediafestival.com/
