Official opening of the academic year 2022/2023 and concert

At the auditorium Sáhkaskáidi and in cafeteria, 10:00 - 13:00

Each year we celebrate the beginning of the academic year with speeches, greetings and a concert. We are also offering free lunch to our guests. The concert is conducted together with the Sámi Music Festival. You can also watch the event online. The link is available on our website under "What`s up".

All events that take place in the auditorium, Sáhkaskáidi, are simultaneously interpreted through an Zoom app from Northern Sámi language to English. If you will be using the interpretation app then you must bring your own headphones and either smartphone, tablet or PC.

Artist: Sara-Elvira Kuhmunen

Sara-Elvira Kuhmunen is an artist from Johkamohkki, a village in the Swedish side of Sápmi. She participated in Sámi Grand Prix 2022 with a yoik "Čuvggodit" and made it to the gold finals in the contest. She is an active member in youth organization Sáminuorra and determines Sámi rights. This is not her first time on the stage - for example, in climate strike <<Fridays for future>> she has yoiked in front of 60 000 people.
