Inga Hansen

My name is Inga, and I am from Greenland, or Kalaallit Nunaat in Greenlandic.

I was asked by one of the professors to attend a Masters in the education in Sàmi University of Applied Sciences, and I studied:  Masters of Sámi Journalism from an Indigenous Perspective, which I finished in 2020. I worked many years as a journalist before I took my master in Kautokeino.

Sámi Allaskuvla -Sámi University of Applied Sciences taught me about Indigenous issues, and this is Unique, because in Scandinavia there are no other education centers who focus about Indigenous, I gotten wiser about the Indigenous world, beside that a very harmonic society: Sapmi.

The atmosphere is great at the Sámi University, that only minor challenges are in my mind, to try contact the office for students where they can contact the employees there to get some advice to certain personal issues.

I would recommend other students from abroad to study at Sámi University of Applied Sciences, the nicest education place, where the officials and employees are very earth grounded and good contact to the students. Even though it is far away in the north, it is a very internationally University.

In this video you see me give a small tour of Diehtosiida campus while telling a bit about Sámi allaskuvla.
